BEC is devoted to raising awareness of Northern California's environmental issues and building support, such as volunteer work, to solve the issues. BEC puts out a monthly newsletter, coordinates the annual Endangered Species Faire at Bidwell Park in Chico, CA, and puts together a Chico Creek Cleanup Day. |

Friends of Bidwell Park works to “protect the natural qualities of Bidwell Park, to help educate the public about their natural environment” and much more. They have donated over 8000 hours of volunteer work in the park, such as trail maintenance and erosion control. One of their recent major efforts is the “Keep Upper Park Wild” campaign. |

|
Friends of Butte Creek mission statement, “The Friends of Butte Creek work to protect, restore and enhance the natural habitats of wildlife in the Butte Creek Watershed.” Friends of Butte Creek were featured in The San Francisco Chronicle for protecting the wild Spring run salmon of Butte Creek. The non-profit organization contributed to a 10% increase in Spring run salmon on Butte Creek, from 2006 to 2007. |

Sac-River Trust endeavors to "Help protect and preserve the natural values of the Sacramento River and to educate the public concerning ecologically viable farming methods and the need to preserve free-flowing rivers.” |

The Butte County RCD’s mission statement: “The Butte County Resource Conservation District is leading working landscapes and open space management in the county through unique and influential partnerships for the benefit of the citizens, the environment, and the economy.” |
